NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Frijoles Fire officials are offering new details on the search for two people who recently showed up at a fire camp, threatening firefighters.

Firefighters were caught off guard on August 21 after two people showed up at a Frijoles Fire crew’s campsite, uninvited. It’s now led to bolstered security as the blaze continues. “Two unnamed individuals came into the camp. Some words were exchanged between firefighter personnel, some threatening comments were made, and authorities were notified. The individuals left the camp. Nobody was injured,” said Incident Management Team Public Information Officer Edward Garcia.
The fire is burning in the Santa Fe National Forest, east of Nambe. A Friday confrontation between firefighters and the two unknown suspects forced a “shelter in place” at a fire camp for over an hour…
