AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — City leaders are making changes after an investigation found two apartment complexes with code violations that had been operating without business licenses while evicting tenants who complained.
Augusta gave Brook Landing Apartments a business license without inspecting the property. When inspectors later conducted inspections, they found 66 violations in every building.
At Pace Corners, inspectors found 95 violations. More than 160 problems were found between the two properties combined.
