A Chevrolet Camaro veered across Grand Avenue and slammed head-on into a Toyota Camry near Gregory Place in Lake Elsinore Tuesday night, killing both drivers and leaving two passengers with major injuries. The crash happened around 9:12 p.m. in the Lakeland Village area, according to official records.
Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner records show the collision occurred 93 feet south of Gregory Place, with the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner logging the incident under case number 9685-2026-01383 as CHP Temecula investigates. As reported by Press Enterprise, the Camaro was heading north on Grand Avenue when it crossed into the opposite lane and struck the southbound Camry head-on.
The Camry’s driver, 56-year-old Joseph Collins, died from his injuries at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar. The Camaro’s driver, 22-year-old Andry Morales, also died as a result of the crash, CHP said. Two passengers in the Camaro, a 23-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, were both hospitalized with major injuries, per the same account.
