PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Loxahatchee man was arrested after Florida Highway Patrol said he was driving 117 mph on Florida’s Turnpike in Palm Beach County — 52 mph over the posted speed limit.
Jefferey Loyd Boatwright was stopped Monday on State Road 91, also known as Florida’s Turnpike, near mile marker 82 before the Lake Worth Road exit, according to a traffic citation filed by FHP.
Troopers said Boatwright was driving in a 65-mph zone when a LIDAR device recorded his speed at 117 mph. He was charged with dangerous excessive speeding, a criminal second-degree misdemeanor, and taken to the Palm Beach County jail, the citation states…
