LSU student charged in connection with lucrative illegal gambling operation

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An LSU student is accused of being a bookie and managing an illegal gambling operation.

Joseph Contente, 23, of Baton Rouge, was charged with gambling, cyberstalking, extortion, unlawful communications; telephones and telecommunication devices; improper language; harassment, and unlawful wagering; prohibited player.
