SAN ANTONIO — Texas’ network of local partnerships with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has continued to grow, now reaching not only more than 200 county sheriff’s offices but also about 177 city police departments, marshal’s offices and constable offices.
The agreements are part of ICE’s 287(g) program, which allows trained state and local law enforcement officers to carry out limited federal immigration-enforcement functions.
