The New York State Department of Transportation has a contract to replace the Route 146 bridge across the Normans Kill, near Tawasentha Park. Although Route 146 was originally a rural road, it has become busy, with school buses, Northeast Industrial Park traffic, and commuters.
Because of the traffic volume, the project will route traffic over a temporary bridge during the replacement, which is located upstream of the existing bridge. The contractors assembled the temporary bridge on the Altamont side of the Normans Kill.
