Police chase suspect out on cashless bonds, electronic monitoring dropped

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – We are learning new details about the suspect charged with leading police on a lengthy high-speed chase that led to three crashes and sent five people to the hospital, including two Cincinnati officers.

Demetrice Cook, 41, of Avondale, was booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center late Thursday on:

  • Three counts of aggravated vehicular assault
  • Three counts of vehicular assault
  • One count of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer.

Cook also has citations for traffic offenses, including failure to reinstate his driver’s license, jail records show.

He is scheduled to appear in Hamilton County Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
