State leaders discussing audit of Metro Schools, House Speaker confirms

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Tennessee lawmakers are discussing the possibility of a forensic audit of Metro Nashville Public Schools, House Speaker Cameron Sexton confirmed to FOX 17 News Thursday.

The potential state review would be separate from a comprehensive performance audit already planned by Metro Government and comes after a multimillion-dollar forensic audit of Memphis-Shelby County Schools identified tens of millions of dollars in questionable transactions.
