Pitt removed approximately 60 parking spaces at Fifth Avenue and Ruskin Avenue this summer to make way for a new 420-bed residence hall.
The residence hall, projected to open in the fall of 2028, is intended to address increasing demand for student housing. At the same time, the University’s parking supply has declined in recent years, creating challenges for students who commute to campus and those who rely on street parking in Oakland.
Pitt’s undergraduate enrollment on its Oakland campus increased from 20,418 students in fall 2024 to 21,406 students in fall 2025. The University plans to reach 22,000 undergraduate students by 2028…
