Community warning after case reports of West Nile in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — While summer is coming to an end, that doesn’t mean its close to the end of mosquitoes in town.

Lubbock health officials shared that a case report of West Nile Virus is currently being investigated and that until results are determined, people within the community should protect themselves when and if they are outside.

“This is something we see every year, in this area… But it’s also something that we need to pay attention to because we do have individuals that get very, very sick from this and it is something that’s easy to prevent,” said City Health Director, Katherine Wells…
