Long before America declared independence from England in 1776, native people were making a living on land that would become the state of Nebraska.
Now, a new exhibit at the Nebraska History Museum in downtown Lincoln called “Our Nebraska” honors the history of all Nebraska’s people and legacies through the past centuries and how they affected national history.
From the agriculture standpoint, certain biographies within this second-floor exhibit stand out — such as the display on Frank Zybach, who invented the center pivot; or U.S. Sen. George Norris of McCook, who promoted the idea of Nebraska’s Unicameral legislature and was the chief legislative architect in the Senate for the Tennessee Valley Authority in the 1930s…
