PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man has been found guilty of a deadly shooting at a Salem park last August, according to the Polk County District Attorney’s Office.
Joseph Andrew Wirkkala, 37, was convicted on charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder for the shooting that took place at Wallace Marine Park.
The fatal shooting happened on Aug. 26, 2025, in a wooded area in the northern part of the park where they found a man who had been shot multiple times.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was also declared dead. He was later identified as Jacob Collazo, age 60…
