Larry Junior Copeland, 64, of Marietta, is accused of approaching a woman while shining a flashlight in her face, telling her that he was law enforcement and to get on the ground or he would shoot on Aug. 19 at 8:55 p.m. at Lost Mountain Park in Powder Springs, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.
The victim initially complied with the commands believing that it was a lawful order. While she was on the ground, Copeland snatched her iPhone 13 Max and threw it in a nearby pond, according to the warrant.
Copeland is charged with impersonating an officer; false imprisonment detainment; robbery snatch; and criminal damage – second degree. He was arrested on Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
