A southeastern jazz club owner is bringing a new venue to Durham that she promises will give patrons not just live music, but a whole “experience.”
Chaye Alexander, owner of Chayz Lounge in Columbia, SC, a club that has offered jazz, soul and poetry in the Palmetto State since 2017, is moving her club to Durham next year.
Alexander describes Chayz Lounge as a “unicorn.” It’s not just a club, not just a restaurant or bar despite having elements of all those. “It’s an experience,” she said.
