EAST LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – As students return to the Michigan State University campus for the new school year, East Lansing police officials say the community may notice an increased police presence, not only on the ground, but in the sky.
East Lansing Police Chief Jennifer Brown said Friday as the school year and football season get underway, the department is aiming to make Downtown East Lansing “safe and welcoming” for everyone spending time in the community, including residents and visitors.
Community members may notice drones and the Michigan State Police helicopter overhead this weekend as “a proactive step to ensure the safety of the people in Downtown East Lansing and add extra eyes to the activities on the ground,” the department said in a press release Friday…
