PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Good Friday afternoon everyone!
Tropical Storm Dolly is no more in the Central Atlantic. Conditions only worsen over the next few days as the system approaches the Lesser Antilles which should keep Dolly from reforming. What’s more interesting is a frontal low has developed off the coast of Pensacola and Mobile from the stalled-out front draped across the Southeastern States. While not currently tagged as an area to monitor from the NHC, if this low disassociates itself from the front and develops a closed circulation with thunderstorms then we could be migrating toward a tropical low. Either way, the low plus the stalled front will continue to keep our pattern of periodic storms into Saturday and Sunday. Even more so, a ridge of high pressure building into the Mid-Atlantic States should nose this low out into the Gulf and then shift it toward Louisiana into early next week.
REST OF TODAY: We’ve had good coverage of storms already this morning. Most saw half an inch to an inch in thunderstorms, less if you only had showers and were up along I-10. We’ll still see another batch of passing storms for the afternoon before they wind down into the late day. Highs today largely stay rain and cloud cooled in the mid 80s…
