Unlicensed driver stopped while hauling unsecured 1,400-pound load in Wildwood

A man was arrested for driving with an invalid license after being stopped with an unsecured 1,400-pound load.

An officer observed 33-year-old Darrian Javaris Fox of Silver Springs towing a tandem-axle trailer with a white pickup truck on U.S. 301 around 8:15 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

He noticed the trailer had no tag affixed to the rear, working taillights or safety chains. There were also two large commercial mowers, with a combined weight of 1,400 pounds, not secured to the trailer. Due to this, the officer stopped the vehicle on South Main Street, the report said.

When asked for his driver’s license, Fox stated it had been suspended for unpaid child support. He had no other ID on his person, nor could he provide a trailer registration card or motor vehicle insurance, the report said…
