1 dead, 1 injured in Sacramento after train hits pedestrians

(FOX40.COM) — A train hit two pedestrians Friday evening in north Sacramento, killing one and injuring the other, officials said.

Around 5:13 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to a crash reported in the 2500 block of Grand Avenue in Del Paso Park near the intersection of near Grand Avenue and Talent Street.

A train operated by Union Pacific Railroad hit two pedestrians, the Sacramento Police Department said. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the other was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is in stable condition…
