ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A man was airlifted to a Baton Rouge hospital after a “serious” tree clearing accident in Adams County.
The incident occurred near 64 Upper Kingston Road just before 1:30 p.m. on August 28, 2026.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said deputies responded to the scene and learned that a 66-year-old man had sustained significant injuries while working as part of a tree clearance crew.
Man extradited to face charges in Walker Montgomery case
The injured worker was identified as Victor Martinez. According to the sheriff, Martinez was cutting a tree when a large tree limb that had been hanging overhead broke loose and fell, striking him in the head. The impact caused Martinez to fall and strike his head on a nearby stump, resulting in severe lacerations and other injuries…
