BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Prominent attorney Lewis Unglesby wants the Louisiana Attorney General’s office to drop its corruption case against East Baton Rouge Parish School Superintendent Lamont Cole. Unglesby called the evidence against Cole weak.
Over his five decades of practicing law, Unglesby has defended clients including Edwin Edwards and Barry Seal. Over his career, he has secured 50 felony acquittals in state and federal courts.
Unglesby said he has never seen a case like this one, saying there is no evidence of any money changing hands, but prosecutors proceeded with a grand jury indictment anyway…
