Lockdown lifted after ‘no active threat’ found at Waukee High School

WAUKEE, Iowa — A lockdown of two Waukee schools has been lifted after officials say no threat to student safety was found.

Waukee High School and Prairieview School were placed on lockdown Friday morning after the Waukee Police Department said there was a report of a weapon outside the high school at 555 SE University Avenue. Police and other first responders responded to the scene, but say there is no active threat.

“The Waukee Police Department and other responders are in the area of the Waukee High School. THERE IS NO ACTIVE THREAT AT THIS TIME. We are investigating a report of a person with a weapon outside the school. Officers are checking the area now. We have no reports of injuries. More information will be released later.”
