The 15-story Wyndham Grand Oklahoma City Downtown has a new owner, and the buyer is already planning renovations at the 311-room hotel near Bricktown. Anish Hotels Group, the Tulsa-based company behind the Renaissance Hotel in Bricktown and the Fairfield Inn and Suites next to the Oklahoma City Convention Center, has purchased the property at 10 N Broadway Avenue and is now the largest hotelier in downtown Oklahoma City.
The acquisition was first reported by The Oklahoman, whose downtown business reporter Steve Lackmeyer detailed the purchase and the company’s renovation plans for the hotel. The Wyndham Grand features 60 suites, an indoor pool, and more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space spread across eight venues, according to Travel Weekly. The property sits one block from Bricktown and within walking distance of Paycom Center and the OKC Convention Center, giving it a prime spot for both business travelers and event-goers.
Anish Hotels Group was founded in 2000 by CEO Andy Patel and is co-led by President Anish Patel, operating branded properties with Marriott International and Hilton Worldwide, per Asian Hospitality. The company built its downtown OKC presence with the 133-room Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Oklahoma City Downtown, which opened in January 2020 next to the city’s convention center, followed by the 182-room Renaissance OKC Downtown Bricktown Hotel in May 2022, according to OKC VeloCity. With the Wyndham Grand now added to that lineup, the developer’s three properties give it a dominant footprint in the city’s downtown lodging market.
A Track Record of Renovation Projects
This is not the company’s first attempt at reviving an older property. In January 2024, Anish Hotels Group completed a historic adaptive reuse project in Phoenix, opening the 148-suite Home2 Suites by Hilton Phoenix Downtown by converting a 1929 commercial building and adding a new six-story tower, the company said.
