PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson declared an emergency on Friday as wildfires impact Walla Walla’s water supply.
Ferguson said emergency measures and federal aid is needed due to wildfire impacts to the Mill Creek Watershed.
This comes as approximately 35,000 Walla Walla residents rely on the watershed for drinking water, officials said.
