NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY)- Starting as early as overnight, August 28, 2026, contractor crews with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are scheduled to reopen the left travel lane and lift the long-tern traffic split on I-64 east at the Tidewater Drive overpass, between exits 277A and 277B, in Norfolk. Following completion of this work, motorists will have access to all general purpose lanes of travel on this section of the I-64 corridor.
The work is scheduled to be implemented over several nights, from as early as 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and will include single- and double-lane closures to remove the barrier and reestablish the travel lanes. All work is weather- and schedule-dependent; therefore, this schedule is subject to change.
