CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A rapid bat was found near a Ballantyne apartment complex this week, making the eight such case in Mecklenburg County this year.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control was notified that a rabies alert was sent out at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26.
The alert was sent to residents that reside in the 14200 block of Ballantyne Lake Road. A bat in this area tested positive for rabies. There were two human exposures reported, and no domestic pet exposures.
