FAYETTEVILLE — Just four days after kicking off its varsity football season with a 47-0 whipping of Weldon on Monday, the Sallie B. Howard School Eagles experienced the other side of a blowout in a 65-0 loss Friday, Aug. 28, at Trinity Christian.
The Eagles, with just 18 players dressed out, managed just one first down in the game. Trinity Christian (2-0) scored 20 first-quarter points and led 44-0 at the half.
“Our offensive and defensive lines struggled dealing with their size and speed,” Sallie B. head coach Marquis Spell said of the Crusaders of the NCISAA. “I was pleased with the overall performance of our secondary on pass coverage.”…
