NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man who was released from prison, then sent back, is now set to regain his freedom once again.
Gov. Bill Lee has commuted the sentence of Thomas Clardy, allowing him to be released from prison and placed on parole.
Clardy was convicted in connection with a 2005 murder at a Madison auto repair shop and spent 17 years in prison before a federal judge overturned his conviction in 2023. After his release, Clardy began rebuilding his life, finding full-time work, reconnecting with family and becoming active in his church community.
