Former Loretto Hospital CFO pleads not guilty in Chicago court

CHICAGO (WGN) – Former Loretto Hospital CFO Ahnosh Ahmed, accused of scamming hundreds of millions of dollars from the federal government, appeared in court Friday and pleaded not guilty as he listened to a list of serious charges read against him.

Ahmed was first charged in the summer of 2024. He was eventually arrested abroad and recently sent back to the United States.

Durng his court appearance Friday, attorneys went over two cases he’s part of: one involving an alleged COVID-19 testing scheme pocketing hundreds of millions of dollars, and another case featuring Loretto Hospital, Ahmed’s former employer.
