De La Salle had big plays on offense and defense to take a large halftime lead and win 26-7 against Fontainebleau in the first game of the Newman Jamboree held at Michael Lupin Field on Friday night.
The Cavaliers took their first drive after a Fontainebleau turnover and drove 98 yards, where Eamon Williams capped off the scoring march with a 71-yard touchdown scamper to take a 6-0 lead with 8:38 left in the first half after the missed extra point. The senior running back finished the game with 158 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries and added a two-point conversion on a run in the second half.
