Rockville Taiwanese Restaurant Named One of the DC Area’s Best Cheap Eats

Bao Bei, the Taiwanese street food restaurant at 12055 Rockville Pike in Rockville’s Montrose Crossing shopping center, has been named one of “The Best Cheap Eats Around the DC Area” by Washingtonian.

The recently published list highlights 60 restaurants where diners can get what Washingtonian describes as a satisfying meal for less than $25 per person, excluding drinks, tax and tip. More than 200 restaurants throughout the region were considered for the list.

Washingtonian highlighted Bao Bei’s signature gua bao, featuring housemade steamed buns filled with soy-braised pork belly or tofu and topped with cilantro, ground peanut sugar and pickled mustard greens. The publication also praised the restaurant’s rice bowls and brown-sugar buns for dessert…
