VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A Virginia Beach woman turned a $1 Powerball add-on into a $100,000 payday after buying a winning ticket for the Aug. 12 drawing at Boulevard Stop Mart, 5444 Virginia Beach Blvd.
The woman matched four of the five white-ball numbers plus the Powerball, according to the Virginia Lottery. That combination normally pays $50,000, but her decision to spend an extra $1 on Power Play doubled the prize to $100,000.
