Mountain Mike’s Pizza has a new location planned for Prosper, marking the latest step in the California-based chain’s steady push through Collin County. The restaurant is slated to open at 220 W. Frontier Parkway, Suite 100, in Prosper, Texas 75078, placing it along a commercial corridor that has quickly become a magnet for fast-casual dining.
The Prosper project was first reported by WhatNow, which noted that Mountain Mike’s Pizza now has three multi-unit development deals in place statewide as it continues its expansion across Collin County. The chain, founded in California in 1978, entered Texas with a Lewisville location that opened in late 2022, according to the outlet. Per WhatNow, Mountain Mike’s chief executive Jim Metevier has said Texas is expected to become the chain’s second-largest state.
WhatNow reports that Hector Haget, who operates a Mountain Mike’s Pizza location in Frisco and is also the franchise owner of the Celina Mountain Mike’s Pizza location, was contacted for details about the Prosper project. According to the outlet, an additional response from Haget was not received before press time.
A Familiar Playbook for North Texas Expansion
Haget’s name has become a familiar one in Collin County pizza circles. Haget and fellow franchisee Khris Tate originally signed a three-store franchise agreement in August 2021 under Jefes Pizza, LLC to bring Mountain Mike’s Pizza to Collin County, with initial targets including Frisco, McKinney, and Prosper, according to QSR Web.
