One person is reported hurt and a private ambulance was called rather than an SFD medic unit, so injuries are apparently not major; we’re following up with SFD. An SDOT incident-response team was also summoned, to clean up a fluid spill. Avoid the area for a while.

- How is it decided if SFD medic unit or private ambulance gets summoned? (Is a medic unit different than an ambulance?)

- For one, the medic unit is equipped to provide ‘advanced life support.’ But it doesn’t necessarily mean your injuries are life-threatening if you are transported in a medic unit. However, it does mean they are NOT if you are transported by AMR.

I avoid using Olga and 37th to turn right onto Admiral. You can’t see (speeding) traffic coming from the left because of the curve. You think it’s clear and start to turn. Then someone flies up on you (usually horn pressed with finger extended) and acts like it’s your fault, but if they weren’t speeding then turning right from a stop sign would work as planned/intended. Maybe this is not how the collision happened but it’s a very dangerous gamble. You could wait for the traffic light but you would have to wait for a pedestrian to trigger it…
