GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – Two people were shot in an altercation involving a Greensboro police officer in downtown Greensboro on Sunday afternoon.
Greensboro Chief of Police Kamran Afzal addressed the media at a press conference shortly before 8 p.m. on Sunday and said they received a call about a man pulling a gun on a woman in the 2100 block of West McGee Street. The chief said the call came from a witness near the 200 block of Spring Garden Street.

Afzal said after he reviewed the body cam footage, he could tell multiple shots were exchanged between the pursuing officer and the suspect.
When other officers arrived on the scene, they found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound and saw the suspect fleeing the scene heading east on Smothers Place towards Elm Street. The initial officer pursued on foot as the other officers were giving aid to the victim…
