A Lake Panasoffkee woman was arrested after allegedly shooting at a couple attempting to leave a physical fight in their vehicle.
A deputy learned of a shooting involving 25-year-old Jo Ann Eleanor Candy in Lake Panasoffkee around 7:20 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival at the victims’ residence on 422B, the deputy spoke with a man whose girlfriend had left in her vehicle at 7 a.m. She left their cat in the car and drove back home. Along the way, she passed Candy on County Road 422, the report said.
The girlfriend had gotten into a verbal altercation with Candy one to two weeks prior, during which Candy threatened to shoot her. Due to this, the boyfriend got into the car with his girlfriend before they drove to a Sunoco gas station. They were on the way when they again passed Candy on County Road 422 near the intersection with County Road 426A, the report said…
