A home on Plaza Drive in Joliet went up in flames on Saturday morning. Joliet fire personnel were called to 1123 Plaza Drive just before noon on Saturday. The first units arrived at the scene within approximately two minutes of dispatch.
Firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from the roof of the single-family residence. Crews quickly deployed handlines and performed vertical ventilation operations. The fire was extinguished, and firefighters were able to prevent significant extension into the remainder of the residence.
