LILLINGTON, N.C. (WNCN) — A convicted murderer at the Harnett Correctional Institution is accused of killing a fellow inmate, the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction said.
According to the NCDAC, inmate Christian Kahlil Bridges, 29, was assaulted by other inmates just before 11 p.m. on Friday in a prison dormitory. He died around midnight while being taken to the hospital.

The Lillington Police Department has charged inmate Isaiah Avante McKoy, 24, with first-degree murder in Bridges’ death, according to the NCDAC.
Records show McKoy’s first appearance in Harnett County court on the murder charge is scheduled for Monday morning.
Lillington police are investigating the incident with help from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, while an internal investigation is being conducted by the NCDAC. More charges may be filed, according to officials…
