RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A downtown Raleigh nightclub’s alcohol permits were surrendered to state authorities Saturday after an “escalation of violence” at the business, including four people shot last weekend, Wake County ABC Law Enforcement said.
The shooting early last Sunday morning inside Alive nightclub injured four people, and officers saw “a large group of people fleeing” the nightclub at 414 Fayetteville St., according to an August 23 Raleigh Police Department news release.
The shooting just before 2 a.m. left two victims inside the club, while two others soon arrived at a nearby hospital, police said. All victims are expected to recover from their injuries, officers said.
“The escalation of violence at Alive has become a public safety hazard for patrons and those who live and visit downtown Raleigh,” Scott Broadwell, chief of Wake County ABC Law Enforcement, said in a Saturday afternoon news release.
