Mobile City Council to consider millions in projects Tuesday

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The Mobile City Council will consider several major projects and expenses when it meets Tuesday.

Brookley by the Bay

The council will consider authorizing the mayor to apply for nearly $7.5 million in federal funding for phase two of the Brookley by the Bay project.

The grant would require the city to provide another $7.5 million in matching funds. That means nearly $15 million could go toward the next phase of the project.

North McGregor Avenue

The council will also consider a more than $1.4 million contract for reconstruction along North McGregor Avenue from the roundabout to Springhill Avenue.

The city is also proposing a $250,000 transfer to the North McGregor reconstruction project.

Police equipment

The council will consider more than $155,000 in purchases for the Mobile Police Department…
