Bane’s memoir, Evolution of a Heart: From the Darkness of 9/11 to Rebuilding a Life and Finding Joy, reflects on the loss of her husband, Michael Bane. He was killed at age 33 while working on the 100th floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower.
