Fresh off Ionia Freak Fair, Greensky Bluegrass announces homecoming shows

KALAMAZOO, MI — Kalamazoo-bred Greensky Bluegrass confirmed Monday that the five-piece band will ring in 2027 with a pair of hometown shows on Jan. 1 and 2 at Wings Event Center.

The band — which is fresh off a Thursday night performance in Grand Rapids and a Saturday throwdown at Billy Strings’ inaugural Ionia Freak Fair — will play the preceding two nights, Dec. 30 and 31 at Chicago’s Salt Shed.

Greensky last played Wings as part of its 25th anniversary celebration as a band on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, 2025. The shows were also tied into the band’s latest release, “XXV,” which features reimagined takes on classic and unreleased Greensky songs highlighted by collaborations with Strings, Sam Bush, Nathaniel Rateliff, Aoife O’Donovan, Lindsay Lou, Holly Bowling and more…
