WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Extremely dry and hot weather conditions have prompted several Kansas counties to issue burn bans.
Sumner County commissioners approved a 10-day burn ban that started Tuesday, while Kingman County commissioners voted to enact a 14-day ban. Both bans will be reevaluated to determine if an extension is necessary.
Several other counties have also issued burn bans:
- Kiowa County – Until further notice
- Bourbon County – Through Sept. 14, to be reevaluated
- Anderson County – Until further notice
- Allen County – Until Monday
