Makkee Dessert, a Chinese dessert chain, is holding a soft opening at 10797 Main Street in Downtown Bellevue, marking the brand’s first location in Washington state. The preview runs through Wednesday, September 10, with service from noon to 4 p.m.
The shop sits on the retail level of the Surrey on Main apartments, in the storefront most recently occupied by Sugar n Flakes Bakery & Cafe, which has closed.
What Makkee Dessert Serves
Makkee specializes in Asian-style dessert soups and traditional sweets, served as bowls of jellies, beans, fruit and other toppings covered in milk. The menu leans on classic ingredients and creamy textures, and the chain markets its desserts as not overly sweet.
The Makkee Deluxe combines grass jelly, chewy taro and sweet potato balls, red beans, peach gum and lotus seeds, served with either fresh or oat milk.
