A milestone anniversary for one of the largest Romanian cultural festivals on the West Coast is coming up this weekend, and it’s right in the capital region’s backyard.
The Romanian Community Center of Sacramento’s annual Romanian Festival will be hosted Saturday at Vernon Street Town Square in Roseville, celebrating 25 years since its inaugural event in Rancho Cordova.
Boris Budac, event organizer and treasurer for the Romanian Community Center, said it’s an honor to continue the tradition his parents’ generation started in 2001. The annual festival began as a small gathering of Romanian immigrant families, but over the following two decades, it grew to a larger cultural showcase open to the whole capital region.
Festival-goers can enjoy Romanian cuisine, live music and folk dance, artisan goods and other cultural experiences. Sacramento-area Eastern European eateries including Noroc Restaurant will serve traditional fare, while a beer and wine garden offers libations to adults 21 and up…
