Local and federal officials looking for clues about the crash of an ultralight aircraft near Newberg may have found some help.
A video was shared with the authorities by a bystander who witnessed the Oct. 12 crash at Chealem Airpark off Dopp Road. The video, which was not released to The Newberg Graphic, was first reviewed by the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and then turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration, Sheriff Sam Elliott said in an email.
Both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board sent investigators to the scene of the deadly crash. Details of their ongoing investigation have been shared with the county’s medical examiner for review, Elliott said…
