Sulphur, La. (KLFY) — Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 westbound near mile marker 25 on October 5, shortly after 12:30 p.m. The crash claimed the life of a 41-year-old man of Houston, Texas, officials said.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling east on Interstate 10. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet exited the roadway to the left, crossed the median, entered the westbound lanes, and struck a 2022 Infiniti QX80 that was traveling westbound. Following the initial impact the Infiniti overturned, and the Chevrolet was struck on the right side by a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser traveling westbound in the center lane.
The driver of the Chevrolet sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene, officials said. The drivers and passengers of both the Infinity and Toyota both sustained minor to moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
