Mercedes driver flees Santa Ana crash scene, leaving damaged luxury SUV behind

The Santa Ana Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a Mercedes SUV involved in a traffic collision who allegedly fled on foot after the crash. According to police, the collision occurred before both vehicles pulled into a gas station. Rather than remain at the scene and exchange information as required by California law, the driver of the Mercedes reportedly abandoned the vehicle and ran away.

Police released surveillance images showing the collision and the damaged Mercedes. Based on the body style, wheel design, and exterior appearance visible in the photographs, the vehicle appears to be a Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class compact luxury SUV, likely a model from approximately 2010-2015. However, the exact make, model, and year have not been officially confirmed by police. Comparable GLK models currently have used-market values ranging from roughly $8,000 to more than $20,000 depending on mileage, condition, and year.

Anyone with information regarding the driver’s identity is encouraged to contact Police Investigative Specialist J. Soto at (714) 245-8214 or [email protected].
