BAYTOWN, Texas – Baytown police arrested 21-year-old Christopher Chavez of Baytown in connection with a shooting early Monday outside a bar in the 100 block of West Texas Avenue, the department said. The victim remains in stable condition.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against Chavez, according to police.
What police say happened
Officers responded at about 2:20 a.m. Monday, October 26, to a shooting in the rear parking lot of the bar. Witnesses told police the suspect arrived and approached a female bartender.
Witnesses later saw the suspect near the rear door with another man, who was trying to convince him to leave. Police said the suspect then displayed a pistol and fired at the male victim…
