His Royal Majesty Rex LXXV Christian Basinger Frierson, a fifth-generation farmer, will rule over the 75th Anniversary of the Cotillion, “L’Esprit Rococo” on April 12 at the Municipal Auditorium.
Reigning with him: Her Royal Majesty LXXV Emma Deas Pickens, a student at the University of Arkansas, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John David Pickens.
The 2024 Ball Chairwoman Lara Yerger’s theme for the Cotillion’s 75th anniversary: “L’Esprit Rococo,” inspired by 18th century France. During the 18th century, France was the pinnacle of culture and civility throughout Europe, said Yerger, in a press release. “As the epicenter for the era’s trends in fashion art, culture and philosophy, the aesthetic was characterized by its whimsical take on elegance, with an eye towards decadence.”
Lloyd Andrew Brown, president of the cotillion governing board, announced that Frierson was Rex LXXV at the black-tie President’s Announcement Party hosted by him and Mrs. Brown Jan. 26 at the Shreveport Club.
